WWE Money in the Bank 2020: 3 reasons why Seth Rollins should beat Drew McIntyre
Begin The Rebirth Of The Messiah
To say that Seth Rollins’ hubris and presentation in his latest character evolution derives deliberate parallels to Jesus Christ would be an understatement. He calls himself The Messiah, for crying out loud. If that’s the direction WWE is going to go, why not just go all the way with it?
Rollins’ downfall and turning point as a character came when he lost to Kevin Owens at this year’s WrestleMania; Rollins even said so himself. In his eyes, WrestleMania is where he died for our sins. If we want to bring this whole biblical parallel thing to full heights, then Money in the Bank should be where he has his rebirth of sorts. His “three days out of the tomb” moment, so to speak.
Then, furthermore, if we really want to get all biblical all over this storyline, have Rollins hold the WWE Championship for a while until his Judas in the wings (Murphy, not Chris Jericho) is ready to betray his leader and claim the title for himself.
We can leave the whole “nailed to the cross” scenario out of this, by the way. In the literal sense, at least.
