The New Day (c) vs. Dirt Sheet vs. Forgotten Sons vs. Lucha House Party [SmackDown Tag Team Championships]

Result: The New Day

Rating: 4.0/5.0 Stars

Grade: B+

Gran Metalik and John Morrison delivered a Spanish Fly to everyone outside the ring to start this match off with red-hot high-flying action. The Forgotten Sons slowed the pace of the match with ground-based attacks to Lucha House Party, whom they defeated on Friday Night SmackDown three weeks ago. Thanks to the slow pace, a hot tag continued to be teased and was delivered with Lince Dorado executing some incredible high-flying maneuvers.

Dorado’s momentum was neutralized once Kingston tagged himself into the match. However, Morrison delivered a Flying Chuck to Kofi Kingston before Kingston could rally in this match. Kingston eventually rallied back with a New Day Drop and tagged in Big E for the Up Up Down Down on Lucha House Party.

Morrison and Miz tossed Kingston off the top rope and tagged themselves into the match. The Miz delivered a Skull Crushing Finale to Gran Metalik and Morrison delivered a Starship Pain to Big E for the two-count, thanks to Forgotten Sons breaking it up.

Lucha House Party tagged themselves in and delivered a moonsault and picture-perfect elbow drop on Big E for the two-count, thanks to Forgotten Sons breaking it up again. Big E tried to rally back but Jaxson Ryker tried to cheat at ringside and got ejected from the match. Kofi Kingston delivered a Trouble of Paradise to Lince Dorado and Big E delivered a Big Ending to Gran Metalik for the pinfall and the retention.

Analysis: This tag team championship match was a fun spot fest. Everyone got their spots and near falls. Kingston and Big E are spectacular tag team champions. The members of Lucha House Party are absolutely underrated. Rifts are being drawn between Morrison and The Miz. And who was the other tag team in this match? It’s quite easy to forget.
