Braun Strowman (c) vs. Bray Wyatt [Universal Championship]

Result: Braun Strowman

Rating: 3.5/5.0 Stars

Grade: B-

Braun Strowman gained early control in the match with some bulldozing power moves but Wyatt gained back control with a DDT after Husky the Pig distracted Strowman at ringside. Wyatt delivered a clothesline and Senton Bomb for the two-count.

Wyatt delivered a Tornado DDT and Sister Abigail to Strowman for the two-count. Wyatt attempted another Sister Abigail but Strowman countered with a Chokeslam. Strowman was shown outside the ring with the Black Sheep Mask. He walked into the ring and hugged Wyatt, as if he joined the Wyatt Family again.

However, it was all a tease because Strowman squashed the black sheep mask and lifted Wyatt up for the Running PowerSlam to retain the Universal Championship.

Analysis: This match was nicely done and a lot better than expected. The imagery was on point when it came to the storyline. Well done by both superstars in taking their storyline to the next level. The tease of The Fiend returning after the match was a strong sign that this rivalry is far from over. Hopefully, this rivalry is stretched to WWE SummerSlam 2020 because it’s getting really good and worth investing in for now.
