WWE Raw Predictions: Rated RKO Will Reunite
By Mark Justice
5.) Who’s Next For Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits?
On last week’s Raw, the Viking Raiders defeated The Street Profits in a non-title match, thereby earning a Raw Tag Team Championship opportunity. Assuming Street Profits retain their Raw Tag Team Championships against The Viking Raiders at WWE MITB 2020, the tag team that will be next in line for the championships are MVP’s Brendan Vink and Shane Thorne.
These two NXT call-ups defeated Ricochet and Cedric Alexander, also known as ‘2 Fly Crew,’ on last week’s Raw. This gives them sufficient momentum to challenge for the Raw Tag Team Championships. They are scheduled for MVP’s VIP Lounge for this episode of Raw, so their challenge to the Street Profits will very likely be announced or addressed during that segment.
Alternatively, the WWE might just book all four of the Raw Tag Teams (i.e. Street Profits, Viking Raiders, Ever-Rise, and 2-Fly Crew) together for a Fatal Four Way Raw Tag Team Championship match. Considering that the Raw Tag Team Division is quite frankly infinitesimal, that fatal four way idea would not be too far-fetched either.
Prediction: Brendan Vink and Shane Thorne (i.e. Ever-Rise)
4.) Who’s Next For United States Champion Andrade?
On last week’s Raw, Bobby Lashley and Humberto Carillo dominated most of the gauntlet match before AJ Styles won the whole thing. It would be remiss to disregard the match result that occurred between Lashley and Carillo during the gauntlet.
After dominating and defeating three opponents in Titus O’ Neill, Shelton Benjamin, and Akira Tozawa, Lashley was reasonably frustrated with Humberto Carillo’s resilience and never-say-die attitude and ended up getting disqualified for not answering the ref’s five-count at the corner turnbuckle. Without Lana at ringside, Lashley still finds a way to lose but there’s still hope.
Although Carillo makes the most sense for a 457th match with Andrade for the United States Championship after defeating Austin Theory and Angel Garza in the gauntlet match, Lashley should still be included in the fray for a triple threat championship feud in order to finish the business he started with Carillo and reward his recent dominance with championship gold on Raw.
As can be indicated by his past Intercontinental Championship success in a triple threat championship against Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins on the January 14, 2019 episode of Raw, it would not be implausible to see Lashley do the same with the United States Championship.
Last week’s gauntlet match was a neat launching pad for Carilllo and Lashley, as they seem prime and ready for some gold on the red brand. If not, Rey Mysterio is still owed his championship match after defeating Andrade in a non-title match two weeks before WrestleMania 36, so there’s always that booking option to fall back on, despite its lack of novelty.
Prediction: Bobby Lashley and Humberto Carillo
