WWE Backlash 2020: 5 possible opponents for Bayley
Naomi
If WWE decide to have a past opponent of Bayley’s face her again for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE Backlash 2020, then Naomi looks like the best option. After all, she’s held that prestigious championship twice in her career and has been incredible in 2020, standing out as one of the stars of the 2020 Royal Rumble Pay Per View before stealing the show at WrestleMania 36.
Naomi lost to Bayley in her only one-on-one title opportunity in Saudi Arabia, and since many fans don’t watch those shows and WWE doesn’t really take them seriously, it’s possible they could go for Part 2 with a stronger push toward Backlash.
There’s no doubt that Naomi is one of the best wrestlers on SmackDown, and she and Bayley can have a great “second” feud, especially now that Namoi can, like Tamina, use the fracturing partnership between Sasha Banks and The Role Model to her advantage.
Plus, Naomi technically won the last singles match she had with Bayley, since she picked up a win by disqualification on the episode of Friday Night SmackDown after Super ShowDown. So maybe WWE can find a loose end there to tie. Regardless, this would be a more well-received match than Lacey Evans vs. Bayley.
