Dana Brooke

Finally, Dana Brooke could be a title opponent for Bayley, since she might be the only wrestler in the SmackDown Women’s Division who hasn’t lost to Bayley in a match in 2020.

Brooke’s last singles match with The Role Model came on Dec. 20, as she lost back-to-back matches to the champion but came out looking like a future star. She then teamed up with Lace Evans on Jan. 3 to beat Sasha and Bayley, as well as current Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

Brooke was supposed to get her first career title match (her bouts with Bayley were both of the non-title variety) at WrestleMania 36 in the Fatal Five-Way, but she was held out due to a precaution.

So in that sense, it may only be fair for Brooke to receive her opportunity at WWE Backlash 2020. I’d love to see Carmella’s reaction to that, since she smashed Brooke with a painting during the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match after warning her friend that alliances wouldn’t matter on May 10.

Brooke vs. Bayley could be a hidden gem, and Bayley could help get plenty of fans behind Brooke again. While Brooke has no real shot at winning, she could definitely impress.
