WWE: 5 Heel and Face Turns We Should Expect in 2020
By Mark Justice
2.) Sasha Banks: Turn Face
Ever since getting drafted to Friday Night SmackDown as the blue standard, Sasha Banks has been playing second fiddle to SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.
On last week’s Friday Night SmackDown, Charlotte Flair used her brand-to-brand invitation to stir the pot with Banks and Bayley and bring to light what the WWE Universe has been thinking all along: Banks should not be complacent with her current role with Bayley and needs to fulfill her championship aspirations.
When this discussion was happening, Banks was muted while Bayley bickered on and on about how their beautiful friendship is superior to Banks’ inner aspirations to rise higher up the ladder in the SmackDown Women’s Division.
Based on everything that is going down, it is clear that Banks’ unrequited kindness and helpfulness to Bayley is being taken for granted. Banks has needs and aspirations too and they should be accounted for, especially by her best friend.
Clearly, Bayley was not seeing what Charlotte was trying to bring to light on last week’s SmackDown. These teasing promos will soon lead to Banks turning babyface and winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Bayley to become the third women’s Grand Slam Champion in the WWE.
Although she recently turned heel after returning from her four-month hiatus, her momentum has not been positive so a babyface turn should help her right the wrongs of her past and lead to championship victories in 2020.
