WWE SmackDown Predictions (5/22/2020): Otis will Cash in on Braun Strowman

2.) Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley (w/Sasha Banks) [Brand to Brand Invitational Champion’s Showcase Match]

Last week on Friday Night SmackDown, NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair already stirred the pot between SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks enough to have Banks deliberately think about turning face and fulfilling her SmackDown Women’s Championship aspirations instead of remaining in her current sidekick role alongside Bayley.

The confrontation from last week should give Charlotte Flair the edge in this bout because it is very likely Banks could screw Bayley in this bout to set up the feud the WWE Universe has been dying to see. It’s unfortunate that Bayley would have to lose on her own turf as a champion, but Charlotte’s victory won’t be clean so it should not hurt Bayley’s momentum too much.

Prediction: Charlotte Flair

1.) Braun Strowman (c) vs. Otis (w/Mandy Rose) [Universal Championship]

Last week on Friday Night SmackDown, Otis and Braun Strowman defeated John Morrison and The Miz in a main event tag team match. Holla Holla Holla! Thanks to this Teddy Long-style booking and Mandy Rose’s distraction at ringside, Otis teased cashing in on Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship but acted as if he was joking around.

This week could turn out differently. As mentioned earlier, Otis needed to move on from his feud with Dolph Ziggler and Sonya Deville to focus on the Universal Championship. After he wins that match with Rose, he can cash in on Braun Strowman later on in the show once ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt attacks Strowman to avenge Strowman for not joining Wyatt at WWE MITB 2020.

Thanks to ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt, Otis can run to pick up the scraps and win the Universal Championship. This is probably the only way Otis can realistically defeat Braun Strowman, and it will continue a feud between Strowman and Wyatt that does not need a championship while Otis awaits new challengers as the new Universal Champion.
