MJF vs. Jungle Boy

Bryan Heaton: Since their first show, AEW has shown a penchant for clear, easy-to-follow storylines. One such story almost always involves a cocky, arrogant heel underestimating his opponent — which ends up biting him in the end. Could Jungle Boy pick up a victory because MJF is too cocky? I think so. It would help further establish MJF as a future top guy when he stops getting ahead of himself. Plus, remember when Jungle Boy came within moments of beating Chris Jericho?

Chris Jeter: AEW clearly has big plans for MJF, who has become one of the best heels in the industry, so while the right kind of loss to Jungle Boy — a surprise roll-up pin — wouldn’t hurt him too bad (he could simply get his heat back the following Wednesday), having him score a decisive win after a competitive 12 minute match is the better move. Plus, it feeds into the story of Jungle Boy being a youngster who hangs with the top talent all the time before he eventually learns how to finish them off down the line.

Samantha Schipman: This has been a good heel vs. face buildup. MJF has been pretty dominant in his AEW career. Jungle Boy has a ton of upside. Both men are future stars and within the next few years could both be faces of the company.

I’m sure WARDLOW will be ringside, but Jungle Express can keep him occupied. Jungle Boy needs to regain the momentum he had when he nearly beat Jericho last year. There’s no better way than by getting the upset win over MJF.

Jesse Velasquez: 2 of the best young talents on the roster. We haven’t seen Jungle Boy in singles competition much, so this is going to be a treat. These had a match a few months back and you can tell they both have chemistry in the ring together. MJF is being groomed for a title shot in the near future. Jungle Boy could pull off the upset here, but I am going with the Salt of the Earth.
