AEW Women’s World Championship Match (No Count-Outs, No DQ)

Nyla Rose (c) vs. Hikaru Shida

Bryan Heaton: The Nyla Rose championship reign hasn’t been able to really get going, thanks to the pandemic. So as much as it seems like Shida may be ready to take off and win the title, I think Nyla will use the stipulations at AEW Double or Nothing 2020 to her advantage, and she’ll leave the same way she came in — as champion.

Chris Jeter: It feels like Rose just won the title, even though she’s held it for just over three months. She’s another one that’s hit her groove on the mic and in the ring, especially since winning the title, and as much as I like Shida, ending Rose’s reign here feels premature. The stipulations should help mask some of the champion’s in-ring shortcomings, but I expect a title retention by Rose here.

Samantha Schipman: Nyla Rose and Hikaru Shida have great chemistry. I really enjoy their matches and the other things they’ve done to build the feud, such as Shida’s missing Kendo stick. Shida has been dominating the women’s division and she’s definitely a future champion. While I would like to see her get the upset, I think Nyla retains. Nyla Rose is a great champion. The pandemic has limited her matches and title defenses. I’d think she will win and keep the title a while longer.

Jesse Velasquez: This is a very difficult match to be predict for me. Through no fault of her own,  Nyla Rose’s title reign hasn’t been memorable. Hikaru Shida has been groomed to win the AEW Women’s title for a few months now. The no disqualification stipulation makes this match a little more intriguing. Shida “should” win this match, but Nyla needs a fair shot with the championship.
