WWE Backlash 2020 Match Card Predictions: Seth Rollins Will Convert Aleister Black
By Mark Justice
Aleister Black vs. Seth Rollins [Grudge Match]
Last week on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins justified his malignant actions against Rey Mysterio as a holy sacrifice and later recruited Austin Theory after Theory was banished from Zelina Vega’s faction. As Aleister Black struggles to battle in honor of Rey Mysterio, he now finds himself all alone against three superstars who are looking to chomp at the bit.
While Murphy did seem jealous of how similar Rollins’ recruitment of Theory was to his recruitment process, it seems that this faction will remain intact regardless while Authors of Pain recover from injury. Nonetheless, the rivalry between Black and Rollins is captivating, for it features a superstar with a satanic gimmick battling a superstar with a Chist-like gimmick.
Just imagine if Rollins ‘converted’ Black to his religion by having him join his heel-like faction. On the Mar. 9, 2020 episode of Monday Night Raw, Rollins did offer Black to join him, so it would not be too far fetched to see it happen again. “If you can’t beat him, join him.”
Considering that Black always wins his matches, maybe he needs to take a loss to Rollins at WWE Backlash 2020 to finally realize that he may actually need Rollins to push his career to the next level. As controversial as this heel turn may seem for Aleister Black in the short term, it could work quite well in his favor in the long run.
Also, with Rollins experiencing back-to-back losses on PPV against Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 and WWE MITB 2020 respectively, maybe it’s time for him to come out victorious here so that his recruitment game can reach its fullest potential. Adding Aleister Black to his faction would definitely make it look more formidable than it once was.
Prediction: Seth Rollins
