Number 3

Men’s Division

Cody – “Kingdom”

Pretty much any of the songs in the top 4 could be argued for the top spot.

First off, I want to acknowledge the hard work of the Downstait, the band that made the song. They have done numerous theme songs in WWE and a few in AEW. Good for them.

Back to this song though, which is their best, “Kingdom” is the song that understands elevating the feel of an entrance. This song is motivating, inspiring, and gets the blood pumping. It’s probably one of the best examples of what a babyface theme song should sound like.

Imagine that song hitting and Cody walking out to the fireworks. Soo good. The intro alone gets me going, and the lyrics paint a great picture that describes Cody’s journey to this moment. It really speaks for itself, so I suggest giving it a listen.

Song to build a kingdom too? Yes.

Chances of you wanting to run up to someone and pump them up by pushing them? High.

Strong desire to adopt a dog and call him Pharaoh? Looking up websites now. WHAT BREED IS HE?

Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? Not even a question. Work out to this song everyday.

Women’s Division

Hikaru Shida – “Shining Samurai”

Ah, our new AEW Women’s champion (and well-deserved). Arguably one of the best openings to a wrestling theme song in AEW, it really does a great job capture the essence of her character. With the Samurai feel in every single way, I thoroughly enjoy her coming to the ring and feel all in on her character. When it comes to theme songs that perfectly describe the persona of the wrestler, I think Shida’s is the best in the Women’s division and second-best overall.

I also want to point out that the song progresses in a great and consistent way. It really is a solid theme song all around.

Does this make me want to fight honorably in battle? Yes.

Does it have a little bit of everything that you could want in a samurai song? Double yes.

Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? Definitely give it a listen every once in a while. That Intro Though.

Tag Team Division

The Young Bucks – “Superkick Party”

SUPERKICK PARTY!!

Such an iconic theme song. It really feels grand and explosive, just like the money cannons that shoot the bucks at the screen (fake money, not the wrestlers themselves). With its use of sick guitar riffs, a sweet melody, and well-placed vocals, it is very tough to find any issues with it.

It can feel like it will be a bit repetitive, but they actually have a reprise that is used for post-match wins, which I think is very clever. The organization, planning, and enthusiasm really capture the Young Bucks and what being Elite is all about.

Be Elite? Be the Elite.

Chances of me super-kicking a random bystander? Critically High.

Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? You bet I do!
