Finn Balor could lose to Damian Priest at NXT TakeOver: In Your House.

On Sunday evening, Triple H and the Black and Gold brand will throwback to the past with the NXT TakeOver: In Your House Pay Per View.

The show will feature a few exceptional title matches, including Keith Lee vs. Johnny Gargano for the North American Championship and the hopeful main event Triple Threat between Charlotte Flair, Io Shirai, and Rhea Ripley.

Top star Finn Balor could be involved in a show-stealer, as he will go up against Damian Priest.

The former Punishment Martinez in Ring of Honor has all the tools to be a major player in NXT, and this could be his first massive victory.

According to SEScoops.com, Balor is officially the underdog against Priest, which must be unfamiliar territory for NXT’s feared heel.

Balor is the first-ever Universal Champion and was once the longest-reigning champion in the Black and Gold brand’s history before this current Adam Cole reign.

Cole’s title will be on the line against The Velveteen Dream, once again.

And Finn has lost just two singles matches in his career in NXT, with both being on television episodes.

The first loss came in 2019 against Cole in a title match, and Balor’s second loss was his most recent match. It was an upset at the hands of Cameron Grimes.

Yet Balor isn’t favored to redeem himself from that lost to Grimes by beating Priest. TakeOver: In Your House could be both a big Pay Per View as a launching point for Priest’s career if this happens, but it could also be a crossroads for Balor, who rejoined the Black and Gold in the Fall as an injection of star power in response to AEW’s Wednesday night television debut.

Balor has defeated Matt Riddle and Johnny Gargano at the last two TakeOver specials, and both men are top stars. He also defeated Ilya Dragunov at Worlds Collide. So if Priest can indeed pick up this win, he could be after Cole next.
