Here’s why Jon Moxley should remain champion after AEW Fyter Fest 2020

We’re just over two weeks away from AEW Fyter Fest 2020, which takes place on the 1st and 8th of July. Reigning AEW world champion Jon Moxley is scheduled to face number one contender, Brian Cage, in what is panning out to be an absolute slugfest of a title defense. There is little doubt this will serve as the headline main event to conclude Fyter Fest and with good reason.

Speaking of reason, I’d like to argue three points as to why the current champion should not lose the strap. At least not at AEW Fyter Fest 2020. Once again we’re witnessing the biggest prize in the game being defended against a newcomer. Brodie Lee failed to capture the gold at Double or Nothing last month and there’s a similar dynamic at play here.

Now, the similarity is somewhat indicative of a repetition of circumstances. At present, the details are pointing in the current champion’s favor, but the question is why would that be justified?

I will present three key points as to the benefits of keeping the AEW World Championship exactly where it is – on the shoulders of Jon Moxley.
