Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Penelope Ford – AEW Women’s Championship

Last week’s episode of Dynamite saw Penelope Ford pick up a surprise pinfall victory over Hikaru Shida during a tag team match. Sure, it wasn’t without some help, but when Shida’s been practically undefeated for most of the year, a win over the champ is a big deal whether she had a title or not.

But since she does, technically, that should open the door for Ford to be next in line for a title shot. As of this writing, this week’s edition of AEW Rankings has yet to be published – not like those things matter in the long run anyway – but Ford was ranked at number five last week. Long way to go to the top spot on paper, but I’d assume a win over the champ should put Ford up a few notches this week.

Or AEW could just ignore the AEW Rankings like they usually do and just hand Ford a title shot. That works, too.

Colt Cabana vs. Brodie Lee

Last week, it was teased that Colt Cabana could join The Dark Order, but I think we’ll find out this week that Cabana wound up turning Brodie Lee down. The Exalted One doesn’t strike me as someone you can turn away so easily, so I’d imagine he’d want some retaliation in the form of a match.
