Edge

From his explosive return to the WWE and in-ring action at the 2020 Royal Rumble, to his Last Man Standing match at WrestleMania, to RAW promos that had the WWE Universe hanging on his every last word; Edge proved time and time again this year just why he is a WWE Hall of Famer, and just why we missed him.

His storylines inside the ring are captivating; however, the story that brought him back to the squared circle inspires each and every one of his fans to believe that truly anything can happen if you put your mind to it; if you put the work in it.

His feud with Randy Orton allowed newer fans to dive into WWE’s history, and older fans to revel in the rebirth of a fresh rivalry that was layered with so much personal investment as two former friends became foes. Edge reminded us all, crowd-less arenas or not, as to why we love sports entertainment so much, and what “old school” passion around this business truly looks like.

I’m not sure what the rest of 2020 will bring for Edge, and I recognize that as a part-timer, he wasn’t as prevalent on TV and pay-per-view as other full-time superstars; however, when he did show up, he made quite the impact.

Honorable mention goes to Randy Orton, who continues to evolve in this business, and, in my opinion, is doing some of his best heel work as of late. No doubt that Orton will land on the year-end 2020 MVP list.
