Big E

Big E is not unfamiliar to carrying the Intercontinental title. While he and Kofi Kingston are the current SmackDown tag team titles, that does not mean much with the way the organization books the tag team division.

The standard seems to be that the New Day are the team that is used to transition the titles to a new group. That was originally thought to be the Forgotten Sons, but thanks to Jaxson Ryker, that is not the case any longer at first glance. That means there is an opportunity to allow both members of the group to do something a little different and it would be exceptional to see Big E make a run for the strap.

Everything about Big E is entertaining. He can perform in nearly any style of match. His promos are passionate, believable, and funny. And the fan base has been firmly behind him since the New Day’s growth into one of the best stables of this generation. There is even an extended call from fans for the WWE to find a way to book him into the main event picture.

While that may seem very unlikely, a surprise singles title run would be a great change of pace for Big E at this point. He and Styles would be a great pair for an angle, even if that means Styles would eventually go over in victory.
