Mia Yim vs. Tegan Nox vs. Dakota Kai vs. Candice LeRae

Oddly enough, in these two weeks, Io Shirai does not have a title defense – though to be fair, she just won it about two or three weeks ago – and we’ve rarely seen her on NXT TV since winning the belt. But in the champion’s place, we will be seeing a number one contender’s match between four women who the division has revolved around for the past few months.

This one seems like a tough call, especially since it hasn’t been specified when/where the title shot could take place. If it was just a one-off match on a random NXT episode, then I’d go with Mia Yim or Tegan Nox to give us a fun skirmish between two babyfaces. But if this leads to a TakeOver match with weeks worth of build up, Shirai is likely to go up against a heel in Candice LeRae or Dakota Kai.

Taking a shot in the dark, I’ll say Candice LeRae, mostly because LeRae and Shirai have previous history. The last time they faced off, LeRae was the spunky babyface while Shirai was … well, she’s the same character we all know and love from last year’s feud, but as a babyface now. It’d be cool to see them revisit the feud, but this time, with the heel/face dynamic reversed.
