Angel Garza and Andrade vs. The Viking Raiders

Result: Angel Garza picks up the pin for the win

The match began promptly after the commercial break, with Erik doing the majority of the work on Angel Garza before tagging in Ivar. Zelina Vega was on commentary and an absolute delight, furthering the storyline and the ambitions of Andrade and Garza.

Garza was having trouble inside the ring, as Ivar and Erik were isolating him in the corner, using their strength to inflict serious damage on his midsections.

Vega did start saying some outlandish things on commentary about the Viking Raiders’ credibility in the WWE Raw Tag Team Title scene, so she and Byron Saxton ended up in a big argument. Saxton took some tough words from Vega on commentary, with Samoa Joe, of course, backing her up.

Back in the ring, the Viking Raiders continued to lay it on Garza, who was simply surviving against the sheer power of Erik.

Andrade came back in, and Garza and Andrade nearly stole the win with a superkick after some distraction. The former United States Champion changed the tide of the match before tagging Garza back in to keep the punishment going on Erik.

Saxton asked Vega about the issues between Garza and Andrade, and Vega flatly denied that there are any problems between those two. Joe backed her up, but did get in a great little comment about being on a level way above her and her stablemates.

But, alas, Andrade kepet yelling at Garza again for something minor and then left the ring to give up on the match after complaining to Vega. Zelina was not having it. She tried to convince Andrade to get back into the ring, and she was able to do so. Tom Phillips was incredulous about how she did it, and she justifiably proclaimed herself to be the best in the business and that MVP, for example, could only dream of being on her level. But she also dismissively stated that there is no problem between Garza and Andrade. Nobody bought that!

It looked like Garza and Andrade were having problems, but they ended up picking up a HUGE win via Garza’s wingclipper, with Andrade intercepting Ivar so Garza could get the pin. Zelina was vindicated, and while Saxton kept harping on the issues, the results and Zelina’s successful managing were undeniable.

Grade: A, This was a solid match with excellent storytelling. And the wrestling quality at the end of it was great. Go out of your way to watch this and keep an especially close ear on Vega’s work on commentary.
