Peyton Royce vs. Ruby Riott

Result: Peyton Royce grabs the win

Earlier on WWE Raw, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay tried to pick on Ruby Riott for not having any friends and for being a loser. Riott reminded the IIconics that they lost their Women’s Tag Title match last week to Sasha Banks and Bayley, and she even stole their catchphrase to goad one of them into accepting her challenge for a match. Peyton Royce was the one who bit.

Riott could be headed for a reunion with Liv Morgan. The latter has been struggling for wins, but she left her brief partnership with Natalya, wh joined up with Lana. Liv and Riott may be willing to get back together and go after the tag titles.

Billie Kay distracted Ruby early in the match, so Royce was able to get a kick in the head on Riott. It seems like she would be needing Liv to be at her side for this match later, because the Kay and Royce connection gives the IIconics a serious advantage even in singles matches.

Royce was dominating Riott early in the match, overpowering her and having her way with the babyface, much to Kay’s delight at ringside.

Riott started to get back into it, but she suffered some serious arm damage so when she went to get a pin off an STO, Royce was able to stay in the matchup. She then nearly got caught by another distraction from Kay, again, struggling with the numbers disadvantage.

And in the end, Royce won with a BEAUTIFUL spinning brainbuster!

Grade: B, A quality match between Royce and Kay with great storytelling that sets the stage for a reunion between Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott. They are stronger together, that much is clear.
