Becky Lynch is more than just the greatest WWE Raw Women’s Champion in history.

Wrestling fans already miss watching Becky Lynch every Monday night on WWE Raw, but her impact is still felt despite her taking on the even more important responsibility of being a mother.

According to a report from Tom Colohue on Sportskeeda’s Dropkick DiSKussions podcast, via Sportskeeda.com’s Lennard Surrao, Lynch had some influence in Asuka becoming the Raw Women’s Champion by winning the briefcase at Money in the Bank 2020.

Not only did Paul Heyman work “really hard” to get The Empress as his brand’s champion before Bruce Prichard replaced him as the head of creative, but Becky also did some backstage lobbying for one of her greatest opponents.

WWE fans know that Asuka has been one of the best performers in the company over the past few months, even before she won the Raw Women’s Title.

She’s been one of the best wrestlers in the company for years, dating back to her incredible undefeated streak in NXT and her great performances on SmackDown.

Asuka should be able to have a strong championship run even without Heyman in her corner, and she has another opportunity to have a stellar match in July against Sasha Banks at the Extreme Rules Pay Per View.

It’s incredible to see how Becky Lynch uses her influence for good and wants to help other women she works with.

The mutual respect between Lynch and Asuka is definitely high, and it honestly shouldn’t have taken much convincing for Vince McMahon to put faith in The Empress as his next champion on Raw.

Lynch has been missed on our screens, but it’s always heartwarming to hear about another positive thing she did for her co-workers or her fans. As the longest-reigning Raw Women’s Champion in history who held the title for more than a year before dropping it to Asuka, it was important for Lynch to go to bat for a highly talented colleague who hasn’t always been given her proper respect from Vince and the creative team.
