Another strong showing for Private Party

Private Party has what it takes to be AEW World Tag Team Champions, but it’s too bad that title win won’t come in the near future due to the three-way logjam among big-name tag teams Hangman Page and Kenny Omega, FTR, and the Young Bucks in the tag title scene. But, of course, Private Party own a high-stakes win over the Young Bucks, and now they own a win at AEW Fyter Fest 2020 over Proud and Powerful.

Santana and Ortiz have been one of the world’s best tag teams for years, and the former Impact Tag Team Champions were in vintage form on Wednesday night. But Private Party stole the show and won, hitting their wonderful finisher. Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy are flourishing in 2020 and can be one of the best babyface tag teams in the world.

Penelope Ford’s breakout year continues

Penelope Ford was one of AEW’s secret stars at “All In” when they ran their first show before actually becoming a promotion, but she’s standing out even more now that she’s wrestling full-time. She was doing an amazing job, as usual, managing Kip Sabian, but her athleticism and energy stand out that much more inside the ring.

Over the past few months, Ford has been a top performer in AEW, and she turned it up another notch against Hikaru Shida in a huge title match at AEW Fyter Fest 2020. This effort was even better than her match with Kris Statlander at Double or Nothing, and she’s earning even more plaudits for her work. Ford is one hell of an athlete and has world title promise – perhaps it will be fulfilled sooner rather than later.
