WWE SmackDown Predictions: Bayley revisits an old rival

2.) Bayley (w/Sasha Banks) vs. Alexa Bliss (w/Nikki Cross) [Grudge Match]
Ding Dong! As mentioned in the intro, Bayley is scheduled to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Nikki Cross. Before Cross became number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, she lost to the number one contender for Asuka’s Raw Women’s Championship, Sasha Banks, two weeks ago on SmackDown.
It is characteristic of WWE to conveniently book Bayley in a match against Cross’ best friend and tag team partner, Alexa Bliss, to gain momentum for her title match with Cross at WWE Extreme Rules 2020. It must be noted that this is Cross’ first singles championship opportunity since joining the main roster.
Indeed, the only other time Cross was in a match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship was in a handicap match against Bayley alongside Bliss at WWE Extreme Rules 2019. In essence, this will be a championship rematch from last year’s Extreme Rules without the handicap and with the babyface-heel roles reversed.
The only superstar who should dethrone Bayley is Sasha Banks, so it’s a no-brainer that Bayley will defeat Bliss on this episode of SmackDown and defeat Nikki Cross at WWE Extreme Rules 2020. The saga of Bayley Dos Straps will live on, and the sheep all around the world will have to tolerate her greatness without reprisal.
