WWE Extreme Rules 2020 is branded as a “Horror Show”, but hopefully that description won’t apply to the main events.

The full card for WWE Extreme Rules 2020 hasn’t been announced yet, but six matches have already been revealed for the Pay Per View, including every match involving a world champion on Raw and SmackDown.

There are a few good candidates to main event the show, so here’s a look at three matches that could conceivably close the Horror Show.

Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler

Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler will have a WWE Championship match at Extreme Rules, and the match clearly favors McIntyre. Credit to WWE for trying to do stuff to make this match more interesting, such as having Ziggler pick the stipulation. Ziggler, as you’d expect, has made his choice a “secret”, which means either we’re going to be wowed by his brilliance or left laughing at his latest poor decision. (Well, more like laughing at WWE’s…but let’s get back to kayfabe.)

What WWE did more effectively was get Heath Slater involved, and while Ziggler’s plan to use Slater to throw McIntyre off his game backfired, it did give Slater an opportunity to cut an incredible promo as an “audition” for the promotions that may want to sign him.

McIntyre vs. Ziggler has only one argument in favor of it being the main event, and that’s the fact that it’s a match for the WWE Title with a potentially interesting stipulation and finish. Otherwise, it’s still hard to get invested in this renewed rivalry.
