Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre enters WWE Extreme Rules 2020 as the WWE Champion, and it’s impossible to even contemplate him losing the title to Dolph Ziggler. While Ziggler has the advantage of picking a stipulation that McIntyre can’t even know about until the Pay Per View starts, that’s only done to try and give the serial loser some semblance of a threat to the dominant world champion.

The reality is that McIntyre should steamroll Ziggler. It’s never a good sign when a champion has to feud with Ziggler mere months into their reign, because it shows you how difficult it is for WWE to come up with ideas for heel challengers for the Chosen One.

I think McIntyre vs. Ziggler could surprise some people, but there’s only one real winner here. Fans are already excited for McIntyre’s SummerSlam opponent, with most reports predicting a dream feud between Randy Orton and McIntyre for the world title on Aug. 23.

It would be wise for WWE to allow McIntyre to face true odds and have a great match, giving Ziggler a chance to trick people for a minute that he can pull off an upset. But at the end of the day, McIntyre is on another level to Ziggler when it comes to where they should be in the company in 2020.
