The New Day (c) vs. Artist Collective [SmackDown Tag Team Championship: Tag Team Tables Match]

Result: Cesaro and Nakamura

Rating: 3.5/5.0 Stars

Grade: B-

D-Von, get the tables! The Dudley Boyz were not in this match but D-Von did give The New Day some words of wisdom before this match. There were plenty of near table collisions throughout this match. Kingston executed a cool Plancha off the top rope to Nakamura, which set up Big E to attempt Suplexing Cesaro though the table.

He failed at doing so as Nakamura tossed Kingston outside the ring and Cesaro delivered the Cesaro Swing to Big E. Despite The New Day’s babyface rallies, Cesaro and Nakamura took control of the end of the match to deliver a powerbomb from the top rope into the stacked tables outside the ring. Cesaro and Nakamura became the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

Cesaro and Nakamura might have a rematch against The New Day at SummerSlam or battle a new babyface tag team in Heavy Machinery. Only time will tell, but there’s hope that they won’t end up being transitional champions. Sami Zayn must be proud and he should still be Intercontinental Champion to supplement Cesaro and Nakamura as tag champs.

Analysis: Awesome tables match to start the main show. Although it was a spot fest because of the stipulation, it was exciting to see this title change. Cesaro and Nakamura have been overlooked for far too long, and they can finally showcase what they are capable of at the top of the SmackDown Tag Team Division.
