The latest WWE Rumors indicate that former NXT Champion Aleister Black will be pushed to the wayside.

With Paul Heyman in charge, WWE Raw was taking a view of the future by pushing younger stars like Angel Garza, Aleister Black, and Humberto Carrillo. But now that Vince McMahon is running the ship fully with Heyman gone, only a few of the wrestlers Heyman wanted to push – like WWE Champion Drew McIntyre – will continue to be booked prominently.

Black is one of the first wrestlers to be affected by the change in leadership. On the July 20 episode of Raw, Black was written off television in an injury angle after Seth Rollins and Murphy attacked him after a match.

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer News’ Dave Meltzer, Black is “unlikely” to be pushed as hard as he was under Heyman now that Vince McMahon is in charge. WrestlingNews.Co’s Paul Davis, after referencing the report from Meltzer, writes that Vince wasn’t a “huge fan” of Aleister but was willing to see if Heyman could help him succeed.

Now that Heyman’s gone, so is the leeway for Aleister. The former NXT Champion has been a standout in WWE since signing, and while nothing may approach his run with the Black and Gold brand, he did have a very good tag team with Ricochet and was one of Raw’s most impressive men during his feud with Murphy.

Hopefully, Vince and the creative team can find something for Black, and the Mercurial One, as Mauro Ranallo liked to call him in NXT, can get an opportunity to prove Vince wrong. As Davis says in his article for WrestlingNews.Co, there are other people backstage in WWE besides Heyman and McMahon who are high on Black’s potential.

Anyone who saw him cut a promo in NXT, hold the title, or kick people’s heads off after hitting a moonsault know that he has the athleticism and character work to be a major player on Monday (or Friday) nights.
