Which women in WWE are having a breakout year?

There has been a fair share of obstacles to overcome in WWE this year. Namely the lack of fans and moving all programming to the performance center. Despite all of that, superstars have stepped up. Here we look at five women having breakout years.

We just surpassed the fifth anniversary of the women’s revolution, and are in the golden age of women’s wrestling. All three WWE brands house some of the best women’s talent in the world. Even with COVID restrictions, they’re knocking every match out of the park. A case could be made the women’s division is carrying WWE through these times. These particular five have made the most of 2020.

Shotzi Blackheart

Shotzi made her debut in December 2019 and made an instant impact back in January of this year. After eliminating Shayna Baszler in a battle royal, she went on to hang with the queen of spades in a singles match. In this same month, Blackheart debuted in her first Royal Rumble at the 26th spot.

She was immensely over with the WWE Universe and the lack of fans due to COVID didn’t slow her down. Blackheart showcased her in-ring prowess eliminating four superstars in a second chance gauntlet back in April. Her stock continues to rise and it’s only a matter of time before she holds gold in NXT. Blackheart lives the motto “taking care of business,” and in 2020 she’s done just that.
