Dakota Kai

It feels like it has taken some time for Dakota to ascend to the top of the division since her heel turn at War Games. She’s been stuck in a never-ending feud with Tegan Nox, though has quietly had some memorable moments in 2020.  Since aligning with “Big Momma Cool” (Raquel Gonzalez) her character has gotten a much needed shot in the arm.

The two have mirrored Shawn Michaels and Diesel’s 90’s run and now Kai is poised to get her first title match. All of this was foreshadowed when Kai was named a future star of the year. Halfway through 2020 and the captain of team kick has delivered. Her street fight and cage match with Tegan Nox are two of the better match finishes this year.

Sonya Deville

Deville stepped out in a big way this year and seized the spotlight. She cut the promo of the year back in April with an empty arena. There’s never been a question of Deville’s in-ring ability but now we know she can cut a great promo.

Deville hasn’t been seen on television in some time and her feud with Mandy Rose is incomplete at best. Once she returns Deville should target everyone in the division that’s received consistent opportunities before her. Sonya’s breakout year is sure to add some more achievements.
