According to the latest WWE Rumors, Evolution 2 should take place at some point this year.

Wrestling fans have been begging WWE to bring back Evolution 2, a wildly successful all-women’s Pay Per View that was the company’s best show of the year in 2018. The first Evolution featured several great matches, including the legendary Last Woman Standing match between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

There was no reason for WWE to avoid having a second Evolution Pay Per View in 2019 when fans were ready for it, and there’s no reason why they shouldn’t have one in 2020.

Thankfully, Alex McCarthy reports in an exclusive for Sportskeeda that WWE is “more than likely” to run Evolution in 2020. They are “exploring” running the show at the Performance Center along with their other Pay Per Views, Network Specials, and weekly shows.

Per McCarthy, there are also “many” people working backstage in WWE who believe it is a “no brainer” to run a show that isn’t expensive to run and will be met with a lot of positive buzz from fans, who, again, have been waiting years for the company to run a second Evolution show.

Digital Spy’s Stephanie Chase wrote an article recently featured quotes from several prominent women in WWE who want a second Evolution PPV, and McCarthy’s report notes that women in the company are pushing for the show.

Hopefully, Evolution can become an annual thing. There’s really no reason for the company not to run Evolution in 2020 and beyond, given its importance in showcasing the talented women of WWE, who have been the best performers in the company as a collective, and the show’s incredible popularity in 2018. Everyone wins with an Evolution 2, so the only question should really be when it will be announced.

As a whole, it’s great to hear that WWE is expected to run the show this year, but most fans won’t rest until an official announcement is made and the promotion stops dragging its feet.
