WWE Rumors: Seth Rollins could have surprising SummerSlam match
According to the latest WWE Rumors, Seth Rollins could get some major comeuppance at SummerSlam 2020.
As the Monday Night Messiah, Seth Rollins has been putting together some of the best work of his WWE career over the past couple of months on Raw. After a rocky start in which he was understandably feeling out how to make this grandiose character work, Rollins has become a weekly highlight, showing, once again, why is he one of the best heels in the modern era.
Rollins has been making life miserable for Rey Mysterio, his son Dominik, and his babyface friends Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo. Seth took Rey’s eye out at Extreme Rules in an Eye for an Eye match, he’s been bullying and recruiting his son Dominik, and he even wrote Aleister off television.
According to Sportskeeda’s Tom Colohue, originally discussed on Dropkick DiSKussions with Korey Gunz, all of this could be leading to a SummerSlam match in which Rollins faces Dominik, whom we’ve never seen in a WWE ring.
Colohue says the current plan is for it to be a tag match, which would make more sense, given how green Dominik could be. The match would be Rollins and his disciple Murphy against Rey and his son. But the door is open for Dominik to have that big singles match against Seth due to Mysterio’s contract situation.
That would be a massive spot for Dominik, to face someone like Rollins with huge stakes at the Biggest Party of the Summer. And according to Colohue, that could happen because of a specific issue in Rey Mysterio’s contract negotiations.
Mysterio hasn’t re-signed with WWE yet, because he wants assurances that the company will push Dominik. Colohue reported that was a part of Rey’s previous deal that expired, but those assurances were not met adequately in the WWE legend’s eyes. Therefore, he wants to see the proof of WWE pushing Dominik during this storyline. So if he doesn’t re-sign by SummerSlam, Dominik vs. Seth could happen.

Seth Rollins can make it work, even if Dominik is green in the ring. But Dominik could win and could really blow people away with a strong performance, as Rollins is in serious need of comeuppance after the way he has brutalized his father this summer, specifically in the Eye for an Eye match (which Rey asked for!) at Extreme Rules.
