Who should be next to challenge WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley?

In recent weeks, WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley has seemed unable to shake Nikki Cross off her back as a challenger. As great as Cross and her partner Alexa Bliss have been, it’s time for a fresh opponent following Bayley’s defeat of Cross this week on SmackDown.

SummerSlam is looming, even if we don’t know exactly where it will be happening. Bayley will need an opponent, and surely several women from SmackDown, or even NXT with their eye on a move to Friday nights, could be chomping at the bit to get that opportunity.

Bayley has been champion for an astonishing and record-setting 296 days and counting. By comparison, the second-longest and third-longest SmackDown Women’s Title reigns combined are only 286 days, and that third-longest reign at 140 days was also Bayley.

There’s no longer any denying the greatness that is Bayley, especially when she’s got now Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks at her side while they simultaneously reign as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. It’s a fantastic reign that raises the question, who’s next?

Since being champion, Bayley has torn through plenty of competition. This Golden Role Model needs a new challenger, but who should be the one to step up and take her on?
