Apollo Crews can have a memorable reign with the United States Championship, and it’s important for WWE to show faith in a babyface champion who recently won his first title. Since WWE know they need to be making stars, they have the opportunity to make one in a wrestler Vince McMahon liked so much in 2016 that he called him up early from NXT.

While Apollo may not have been ready for the spotlight in 2016, he showed in early 2019 that he was ready to be champion by making the most out of a brief push. WWE, frustratingly, didn’t follow up, but now in the summer of 2020, Apollo finds himself as champion.

Beating a legendary wrestler like MVP at WWE SummerSlam 2020 at a time when MVP’s stable is one of the biggest stories on Raw would be a massive deal for Crews. It could be the kind of win that helps serve as a springboard for Apollo as champion, giving him momentum he can use.

We know Apollo’s strength lies in being a true babyface fighting champion who puts on great matches each and every week on Raw. There’s no reason why he can’t increase the prestige of the new-look United States Title and have a run with the belt on Raw like Seth Rollins did with the Intercontinental Title in 2018.
