Bayley and Sasha Banks (c) vs. Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan [Women’s Tag Team Championships]

Bayley and Sasha Banks have retained their Women’s Tag Team Championships against all of the main roster tag teams, except the recently reunited Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan. While it would not be ideal to expedite the booking process with Riott and Morgan, SummerSlam would be an excellent stage for them to win tag team gold. The only caveat here is that Riott and Morgan are not even close to repairing their friendship entirely.

Nonetheless, WWE is renowned for hotshot booking, so why not? As can be substantiated by their victory against the IIconics on last week’s Raw, it’s clear that Morgan and Riott are now equals who are stronger together than apart. When a team is stronger together than apart, the next step is tag team championship gold, and they would be a key component in breaking up Banks and Bayley since the Riott Squad was always known for breaking friendships.

Prediction: Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan

Sasha Banks (c) vs. Asuka [Raw Women’s Championship]

After Banks exhausts herself in the Women’s Tag Team Championship match with Bayley, she won’t be ready for Asuka in this Raw Women’s Championship match. Indeed, it’s inevitable that Asuka will earn this championship match by defeating Bayley on next week’s Raw. She will win the championship back from Banks because Banks is renown for never retaining the Raw Women’s Championship and Shayna Baszler already teased that she’s next for Asuka.

While there will be naysayers who will try to concoct an elaborate booking plan that would substantiate their rationalizations for Banks retaining the Raw Women’s Championship, her history with the title will still decide her fate because WWE has a proclivity to book that way. Once Banks loses the championship, Baszler will be next for Asuka and she will dethrone Asuka post-SummerSlam, as was originally planned since WWE MITB 2020.

Prediction: Asuka
