Tommaso Ciampa

The first potential contender is a man we haven’t seen since NXT TakeOver: In Your House. On that night, “The Blackheart” Tommaso Ciampa was taken out in dominant fashion by Karrion Kross, who now has his eyes on the “Goldie” Ciampa once held so dear to him.

With some time away, Tommaso Ciampa could now be looking to change his focus and go for some gold he’s never held before. It would be an amazing way for Ciampa to show back up in WWE NXT, and it also has the potential to reignite the rivalry that seemingly never ends.

If Ciampa comes out on top, it’s important to remember that Johnny Gargano now has a second chance to find his way into this contest. If the cards fall just right, Gargano and Ciampa could be standing across the ring from each other once again at NXT TakeOver: XXX.

Cedric Alexander

A very different choice would be someone who has struggled to find a foothold on WWE Raw in the name of Cedric Alexander. A lot has happened since he competed in the Cruiserweight Classic, and vocal fans chanted “please sign Cedric,” no doubt factoring into Triple H’s decision to give Alexander a contract.

While he’s found success as a former Cruiserweight Champion, he’s increasingly been lost in the mix as of late, and a return to WWE NXT could be just the thing to revitalize Alexander’s career as he sets his sights on the NXT North American Championship.
