Dirt Sheet Segment: Starring Sonya Deville

Result: Sonya Deville Set The Record Straight With Mandy Rose

Grade: B-, This segment underdelivered because it needed more time to truly delve into Deville and Rose’s rivalry. Rose and Deville have the best rivalry going on right now, and it should be receiving an appropriate build-up to WWE SummerSlam 2020. Their rivalry needed to be taken to the next level, and this segment failed to do that.

The Miz and Morrison tried to be funny by showing Mandy Rose’s hair as a puppet on the titantron. They introduced Sonya Deville, who cut a promo on how the fans shouldn’t feel sorry for Mandy Rose because Rose deserved everything coming for her.

As Deville and Miz and Morrison continued to roast Mandy Rose, Otis and Tucker from Heavy Machinery ran in to interrupt the segment. As expected, this set up a tag team match between them later tonight.

Cesaro (w/Shinsuke Nakamura) vs. Lince Dorado (w/Gran Metalik) [Grudge Match]

Result: Cesaro (via pinfall)

Grade: B+, Clearly, Cesaro is not just a ‘hot tag.’ The match was fun to watch and the best match of the night thus far. Cesaro and Dorado have incredible chemistry in the ring. These superstars have clearly shown that they can be singles stars and deliver killer matches.

Lince Dorado looked very impressive in this match with his patented Head-Scissors Takedowns and Hurricanranas. However, Cesaro’s strength prevailed after he delivered a European Uppercut and the Neutralizer to decisively defeat Lince Dorado with the three-count.

Segment: The Fiend Imprisoned Alexa Bliss In The Ring

Result: Braun Strowman Challenged The Fiend to a Universal Title Match at SummerSlam

Grade: B+, This segment sent chills down everyone’s spine. The sadistic Bray Wyatt went from talking about the wolves and buzzards in the forest in 2015 to kidnapping victims in 2020. Tell ME he didn’t just do THAT? You gotta love it. And he still got his Universal Championship match against Strowman. The Fiend truly played the system.

The plan worked. Braun Strowman caved in and gave The Fiend a Universal Championship match at WWE SummerSlam 2020. However, Strowman said he never truly cared about Alexa Bliss anyways. Looks like their partnership during the MMC means nothing anymore.

The fact that he said this ruined the idea of his babyface run in this rivalry. However, The Fiend possessed Strowman so much that Strowman probably forgot who he is anymore. Fifteen minutes in a swamp can really change a man, especially a monster among men.

Alexa Bliss’ reactions to The Fiend truly made this segment as eerie as possible. When it comes to acting her part, Bliss delivered. She may not be Sister Abigail, but she definitely fit the bill quite effectively. How will this affect her tag team with Nikki Cross?
