Apollo Crews (c) vs. Bobby Lashley [United States Championship]

Result: Bobby Lashley (via submission)

Rating: 3.5/5.0 Stars

Grade: B-, Lashley and Crews had a good match and it was good booking to dethrone Crews here. Lashley needed a consolation prize for not winning the WWE Championship against McIntyre earlier this year.

Bobby Lashley dominated Apollo Crews in the early stages of the match until Crews delivered an Enziguiri to Lashley. Lashley did not allow Cres to rally, and he delivered The Dominator to Crews for the nearfall. Crews rallied back with a flying crossbody, spine buster, and standing moonsault. Lashley attempted the Full Nelson, but Crews delivered two German Suplexes to Lashley.

Crews literally took Lashley to Suplex City and paid tribute to Eddie Guerrero with a picture-perfect Frog Splash for the nearfall. Lashley regained his offense with a chokeslam and a Full Nelson for the submission and the victory. Lashley is the new United States Champion. He had a photo-op with MVP and Shelton Benjamin, which was a nice touch.

Crews attacked them afterward, like a sore loser. Why did Crews attack them afterward? A babyface should not be a sore loser. That alone was questionable booking ethics. It would have been way better if he did not do that. Nonetheless, this is a sign that his feud with Lashley is far from over.
