Many WWE fans would like to see Roman Reigns wrestle without a shirt on, but there’s reportedly a reason why he cannot.

Roman Reigns returned to WWE at SummerSlam with a new look, wearing a shirt that simply said “Wreck everyone and leave”. On the following episode of SmackDown, he picked up something else that’s new – an alliance with Paul Heyman. And then on Sunday at Payback, Reigns added the Universal Title.

WWE fans are excited about what’s next for Reigns. He is the same man, but he’s had some major changes now with Heyman and could be headed for an incredible run with the title. There’s buzz from fans about a new theme or even new wrestling attire, in addition to the new shirt.

WrestlingNews.Co even reported that Reigns could get new gear or even wrestle without a shirt, which is a prospect that excites a lot of fans.

But in his Raw Preview, Sportskeeda reporter Tom Colohue informed fans that Roman Reigns cannot change his wrestling attire due to a medical condition.

Roman Reigns requires padding and a special belt for a medical reason

Per Colohue, while Reigns is now wrestling with a shirt and not the full vest, he is wearing chest padding underneath the shirt. Colohue states that the padding is designed to hold up and protect a special belt that Reigns needs in order to prevent him from getting hernias, which is why he cannot wrestle without a shirt or have a similar change in wrestling gear. It would be a risk for him to wrestle without this protection

In 2014, Roman Reigns needed emergency surgery in order to repair a large hernia that could not be reduced, and it was a pre-existing hernia that was causing him a lot of pain.

Wrestling fans love Reigns and many do want to see him wrestle without a shirt, but they know his health is more important than anything else. So it’s time for us to stop clamoring for any changes in attire for the Big Dog and be thankful that he is here, wrestling healthy, and back in WWE. He has been sorely missed on our screens.
