Shotzi Blackheart

When it comes to fresh challengers, NXT is always a great place to look, and Shotzi Blackheart would be a very fun opponent for Bayley. We got to see a glimpse of what this matchup could be when Banks and Bayley defended the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Blackheart and Tegan Nox back in June.

Just imagine the pandemonium of Shotzi Blackheart showing up on SmackDown and running over Sasha Banks with her tank as Bayley flees. It would be a huge opportunity for Blackheart, and once again this could continue to ramp up the tension between Banks and Bayley.

Last, but certainly not least, there’s Naomi. Not only is Naomi a great matchup for Bayley, she actually pinned Bayley clean on the mat on the SmackDown before WWE SummerSlam 2020. Banks and Bayley were understandably distracted focusing on WWE Payback 2020 and their ultimately unsuccessful defense of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, but Naomi has absolutely earned her shot by pinning the champion.

This would be a great match, and Naomi would also be a great option here to actually defeat Bayley rather than just being a placeholder challenger. In order to truly draw things out between Banks and Bayley, they need the title off Bayley.

Naomi could score a huge victory by ending Bayley’s record-setting reign, and go on to the hold the title all the way to Royal Rumble 2021 or even Elimination Chamber 2021 before losing the title to set the stage for a WrestleMania main event pitting SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley against Royal Rumble winner Sasha Banks in a match that’s nearly six years in the making.
