SmackDown Women’s Championship Match: Bayley (c) vs. Alexa Bliss

We’ve seen Bayley and Alexa Bliss mix it up plenty of times before, but this has the potential to be a very different kind of encounter between them for a few very key reasons. Most importantly, Bayley is at a critically difficult period when it comes to her friendship with Sasha Banks.

Not only did she fail to help Banks retain her Raw Women’s Title at WWE SummerSlam 2020, but Bayley was the one who tapped out at WWE Payback and caused them to lose the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. On the flip side of things, we’re starting to see a version of Alexa Bliss that might be different than anything she’s ever been before.

Based on how she seemed during this last episode of SmackDown, Bliss has been changed by her experiences with The Fiend. We might even see Bray Wyatt, or The Fiend, cheering Bliss on during this attempt to seek championship gold.

Intercontinental Championship Unification Ladder Match: Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Sami Zayn (c)

Honestly, no match at WWE Clash of Champions is more needed than this one. If WWE doesn’t already have this one on the docket, it’s just proof they have no idea what they’re doing. Sami Zayn won the Intercontinental Championship back at WWE Elimination Chamber 2020, but on May 12, 2020, he was stripped of the title because he’d chosen to stay home and be safe during the ongoing global pandemic.

While WWE hasn’t acknowledged that reasoning for Zayn’s absence, we all know that’s what happened. With him gone, a tournament ensued and AJ Styles ultimately won the title. He continued to hold the Intercontinental Championship until losing it just over a week ago to AJ Styles.

Hardy successfully defended this past week against Shinsuke Nakamura, only for Sami Zayn to make his return and jump around on the stage holding the Intercontinental Championship he never lost. Now the stage is set to decide who the is the rightful Intercontinental Champion, and what better way than hanging both belts above the ring and pitting these two men who claim to be champions against each other in a Ladder Match?
