Roman Reigns wins after a valiant effort from Jey Uso

But I think it’s more likely for Roman Reigns and Jey Uso to get a good 10-15 minutes in a more standard world title match than a straight-up squash. A quick win for Reigns generates heat, but it’s not a great look for WWE’s Tag Team Division or to an experienced, talented wrestler like Jey Uso. I also highly, highly doubt Reigns would request to work with Jey in a title match just to squash him.

Jey has what it takes to take Reigns far, and it seems like Reigns is underestimating his family member a little bit. There might not be any man in WWE better at making someone look like a star in a match than Reigns, who has elevated the likes of Jason Jordan and Murphy in defeat during matches on weekly television.

A Pay Per View match with Roman Reigns is a huge opportunity for Jey Uso, and both men undoubtedly know this and will go to great lengths to take advantage of that. Having a classic match in his first title defense sets the tone and would do far more for Reigns – and obviously Uso – than a squash.

All that’s needed is a couple of good nearfalls, a flurry of a comeback from Jey, and, finally, a crushing loss delivered to the underdog babyface with a massive Spear from the Big Dog. It isn’t hard to write the drama in this match or to let these two great athletes put on a show.
