Roman Reigns Is Going To Destroy Jey Uso At Clash Of Champions
Roman Reigns did not look like he was playing around when SmackDown ended on Sept. 18.
Jey Uso wasn’t originally scheduled for a No. 1 Contender’s Fatal Four-Way match on WWE SmackDown, but he ended up entering the match after Sheamus took out Big E backstage. And he won, setting up a Universal Title bout between himself and his cousin Roman Reigns at Clash of Champions on Sept. 27.
Although Reigns and Uso have that family bond and are tied by blood, Reigns is about to make an example out of Jey in his first title defense since winning the championship at Payback.
True to his shirt, Wreck everyone and leave, Reigns entered the Universal Championship match late and won quickly. He did the same in a tag match on SmackDown, leaving Jey out to dry before entering and swiftly winning with a Spear.
In their second tag match, a Samoan Street Fight, Jey picked up the winning pinfall this time after Roman started the match. Roman hit a spear, Uso hit the splash, and they walked away from the match victorious.
Roman Reigns gave Jey Uso one hell of a death stare
But Jey tried to steal Roman’s spotlight, not only by stealing the pin with the splash, but also by daring to hold and glare at the Universal Title.
Reigns played it off cool like he wasn’t bothered by Jey touching his title and celebrating, but look no further than the death stare he gave to Jey when his Clash of Champions opponent’s back was turned.
It’s all over for Jey.
Roman Reigns is on a mission since he’s returned to WWE. He doesn’t just want to be a champion or be the biggest star on SmackDown. No, that’s all pretty much a given for Reigns, who is easily the biggest male star in wrestling in 2020.
What Reigns wants to do – and it’s the reason why he’s recruited Paul Heyman – is become the greatest of all-time. He’s not competing with Jey Uso or Drew McIntyre or Bray Wyatt. He’s competing with the legacies of John Cena, The Rock, and Stone Cold. That’s where Reigns wants to be, and in order to get there, he can’t mess around for one second.
Reigns is keeping his cards close to his vest. Bloodline reunion? Maybe, that happens. But what’s definitely going to happen at Clash of Champions is Roman Reigns delivering an absolute beating to Jey. He may be his blood, but that’s the point of the message Roman wants to get across to the rest of the WWE Universe. If he’s willing to do THAT to his own blood in his first title defense, imagine what he’ll be willing to do to the rest of the locker room in a championship match.
