Mock 2020 WWE Draft Rules and Format

In this full mock WWE Draft, I’ve followed most of the same rules as the 2019 WWE Draft with a few minor tweaks. One big question mark going into this draft is whether WWE NXT will be involved and allowed to make any picks.

With WWE NXT coming more into their own as a full-fledged third brand in the last year, it makes sense for them to play a role, although it may not be as significant a role as WWE Raw or SmackDown. With that said, I’ve allotted NXT one draft pick for every two rounds.

On Night One, NXT will get picks at the ends of Round One and Round Three. On Night Two, NXT will get picks at the ends of Round One, Round Three, and Round Five. Also, like in the past, NXT superstars will not be listed in the Draft Pool but are eligible to be selected by Raw or SmackDown. There will also be a supplemental few draft picks made following the rounds if anyone in that night’s Draft Pool did not get picked.

Just as last year, tag teams or even factions will be drafted as a complete unit unless a brand decides to draft them together. If current champions are drafted, their titles will go with them, as has happened in many previous drafts.

Below, I’ve listed the full format for this mock draft, as well as the divided up Draft Pool for each night. There will be some obvious absences from the Draft Pools that some people may notice.

Legends have been left out of the pools, as well as inactive or injured superstars. RETRIBUTION, having just signed a contract for Raw and logically having some sort of clause that prevents them from now being moved to SmackDown, have also been left out.
