5. Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano

Bring the “Gargano Way” to Monday nights!

Look, neither would be on the list had either won at TakeOver 31, but since both lost, clean, what else is there for them to do in NXT?

Gargano is a triple crown winner in NXT being a former NXT Champion, North American Champion, and Tag Team Champion. “Johnny TakeOver” is also a misnomer in certain respects as he’s been on the losing end of 14 of his 19 TakeOver matches. He’s basically Paul George: a great regular season player who just cannot win when it comes to the playoffs/TakeOvers.

I guess that would make his wife (and partner-in-crime the past few months) Carmelo Anthony. She’s also great in the regular season, but hasn’t had as many opportunities as her husband/George, and each time she also comes up short. We’ve been told over and over again what to expect of LeRae on Wednesday nights: an occasional title challenger who’s there as essentially the last gatekeeper in determining the next contender for the Women’s Championship.

There’s also a sense of fatigue with both wrestlers, though more on Gargano with his constant presence at or near the top of the card for so many years. A change of scenery for both might be just what they and WWE need.

I’m already giddy thinking about Gargano rekindling a feud with Andrade and Aleister Black, not to mention the absolute superb matches he had with Ricochet. Just imagine Gargano taking on a resurgent Mustafa Ali with both men’s wrestling and, more importantly, selling ability.

What about Gargano vs. every member of The Hurt Business? Whew, I think I need a moment.

LeRae, though small in stature, would add some much-needed depth to the women’s roster on Raw (along with a few other people on this list). LeRae can do pretty much anything, and she does it well.

LeRae reigniting her past feud with Bianca Belair would be fantastic, especially with the latter having more experience. Who wouldn’t want to see another match or two between LeRae and Mia Yi-sorry, Reckoning, especially if it’s anything like their street fight? The same holds for Mercedes Marti-crap, I did it again, I mean Retaliation.

LeRae vs. any woman on the roster, really, would involve great matches. Ruby Riott? Sign me up. Peyton Royce? I’m down. Mickie James, Zelina Vega, Natty? Sure. However, the most appealing is undoubtedly another feud with Shayna Baszler.

Whatever the path may be, adding these two would go a long way to helping Raw once again become the “A” show.
