Cody (w/ Brandi Rhodes & Arn Anderson) vs. Brodie Lee (w/ Anna Jay & John Silver) for the TNT Championship

Cody immediately took a shot at John Silver, turned around, and ate a boot from Brodie Lee. Silver came up bleeding, as he ate a shot from the chain. Cody hit an uppercut and then ran up the ropes, but Brodie Lee pulled on the chain and yanked Cody back into the ring. Brodie pulled Cody from the ring by the chain and then slammed Cody face-first into the apron.

Brodie Lee put Silver in a chair but Cody dropkicked him out of it, missing Brodie Lee. Lee dragged Cody into the ring and hit a DDT onto the chain. Anna Jay brought Silver backstage as Brodie’s request, as Lee tore at the face of Cody with the chain. Cody was now bleeding everywhere. Cody got Brodie caught up in the chain and crotched him with it.

Cody then hit a Russian Leg Sweep with the chain and then a suicide dive, but Lee pulled Cody over the guardrail with the chain and slammed him into it multiple times. Brodie grabbed a table and tried to put Cody through it, but Cody hopped off the apron and pulled Lee into a cutter on the floor. Cody almost put Brody through the table, hitting an enziguri.

Cody went onto the apron and then hit a package piledriver off the apron through the table. Brodie Lee came up covered in blood, and now both men are bleeding everywhere. Cody hit some punches with the chain and then hit a face-first suplex on the chain. Cody whipped Brodie with the chain and then continued to punch him with it.

Lee pulled Cody into a Bossman slam, and Cody kicked out. Brodie threw a chair at Arn Anderson. Arn came into the ring, and Alex Reynolds ran down, but Arn hit him with a spinebuster. Brodie hit Arn in the stomach with the chain, and Cody took advantage off the of the distraction and rubbed the chain into the cut on Brodie Lee before hitting a moonsault from the top rope for a 2 count.

Cody hit the Cross Rhodes for a 1 count! Cody went for Din’s Fire, but Brodie Lee slipped out and hit two suplerkicks before powerbombing Cody on the chain. Cody kicked out. Cody pulled the chain on the outside of the ring, driving Brodie’s head into the ring post. Cody went to the top rope, but Brodie cut him off and hit a huge superplex on Cody.

Cody drove Lee’s face into the chain, but Lee pulled Cody back and hit a release Dragon suplex on Cody. Cody floated out of a discus lariat and then hit the Final Cut on Brodie. Cody wrapped the chain across the mouth, nose, and eyes of Brodie Lee before hitting a series of elbows and hitting a Cross Rhodes for the pinfall. That was an amazing finish.

Rating: ****1/2 (4.5 stars)

Cody and Brodie Lee beat the life out of each other in this match, bleeding everywhere. Both men were committed to giving a PPV quality match on TV, and Brodie Lee lost nothing in this loss to Cody in terms of his positioning on the card. In fact, he came across as an absolute monster.

Cody then cut an incredible babyface promo, saying that people wanted him to go to the dark side, but that he would never do that because he is doing this for the fans and loves them. He then promised to defend the TNT title next week for the AEW Dynamite Anniversary show, and Orange Cassidy came out to challenge Cody.
