Roman Reigns vs. The Rock is one of the biggest dream matches in WWE, but there’s a reason to doubt the match ever happening at WrestleMania.

When WWE fans learned that WrestleMania 37 was scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, they immediately started coming up with dream matches for The Rock’s return to the ring. And no dream match stood out more than a battle against his cousin Roman Reigns.

That speculation picked up after Reigns returned with a new character, aligned himself with Paul Heyman, turned heel, started calling himself the “Tribal Chief”, and embarrassed Jey Uso in an instant classic at Clash of Champions.

Even with WrestleMania 37 set to take place in Tampa, the speculation has not dwindled. Many fans really want to see Reigns vs. The Rock, even as Big E vs. Reigns remains another compelling “passing of the torch” match in a different way.

An insurance policy could stop Roman Reigns vs. The Rock from happening at WWE WrestleMania 37

But according to the Wrestling Observer News’ Dave Meltzer, via WrestlingNews.Co’s Paul Davis, an insurance deal The Rock would have with a film production company could prevent this dream match from taking place. And that would be a big impediment logistically to The Rock wrestling at ‘Mania 37 or 38, if the latter goes to Los Angeles.

It’s hard to say what deals The Rock has or doesn’t with film production companies or what he’s working on, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind so that fans aren’t disappointed if they get their hopes up for a Rock vs. Reigns match, which would absolutely be at its hottest now that Reigns is in this current character.

But with Reigns, we know that no matter who he faces at WrestleMania, it’s going to be a spectacle. His best matches, though, are with wrestlers currently on the roster who can keep up with him, such as AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and, of course, the man many of us want to face Reigns at WrestleMania, Big E.
