AEW Full Gear: Tag Team Championship

AEW Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (c) vs. The Young Bucks

This is one of the night’s three confirmed matches, and like the last one, it’s not fully defined just yet. We know that FTR will be defending their AEW Tag Team Titles at AEW Full Gear, but who they will be facing has yet to be determined. On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, there will be a Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match featuring Private Party, The Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds and John Silver, The Young Bucks, and finally The Butcher and The Blader with the winning team going on to AEW Full Gear.

Any of them seem like solid contenders, but the most likely choice seems to be The Young Bucks, who have bee steadily declining into chaos and rebellion since FTR took the AEW Tag Team Titles from Kenny Omega and Adam Page, simultaneously imploding the already fragile remnants of The Elite. As has been said many times before, this is an absolute dream match, and it’s time for AEW to finally pull the trigger on it and make the dream a reality at AEW Full Gear.

AEW Full Gear: Women’s World Championship

AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

While we don’t yet have a confirmed challenger, we can likely expect AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida to defend her title at AEW Full Gear. Following AEW All Out, the most likely challenger seemed to be Big Swole following Swole’s defeat of Baker in the Tooth & Nail Match. However, Swole has already had her shot at Shida and unfortunately failed to capture the title.

Instead, it seems to be time for AEW to turn to a match they’d likely had in the works prior to Baker’s injury some months ago. We’ve really seen Baker come into her own as one of the company’s top heels in the last few months, and it may finally be time for her to get her shot and dethrone Hikaru Shida to become the new AEW Women’s World Champion.
