WWE Rumors: Elias will be a key part of Raw going forward
Elias absolutely smashed his musical performance on WWE Raw this week, and we can expect him to be a major part of the show in the coming months.
There were a number of big winners in this year’s draft, such as Seth Rollins, who moved to SmackDown for the first time since 2016. Quietly, one of the biggest winners could be Elias, who joined WWE Raw as a fourth-round pick on Night 2 of the draft.
According to a report from Gary Cassidy of Inside The Ropes, Elias is set to be one of WWE Raw’s “top stars” after the draft. Cassidy reports that Raw having three hours of time benefits Elias and is a big reason why The Drifter was switched to the Red Brand.
On Raw, he’ll reportedly get to have more theatrical performances and concerts, such as the one on his first episode back on Monday nights. Elias knocked the concert out of the park, showing real talent on the microphone as a singer – not just as a wrestler cutting promos.
Elias is a perfect fit for WWE Raw
Like Braun Strowman, Elias just fits Raw a lot better, and the fact that he’ll get extra time for his performances is a huge plus. Elias, as a heel, can generate so much heat with his promos and character work, but he can also generate positive buzz for WWE with his musical skills. He’s greatly improved on the guitar since debuting on the main roster a couple of years ago.
WWE fans have been wanting to see more for Elias, who will likely finish up a long-standing rivalry with Jeff Hardy at Hell in a Cell. Although Hardy is the fan favorite, many members of the audience would like to see Elias win so that the company can start doing something with him in the upper mid-card.
Based on Cassidy’s report, it seems like we can expect a lot of big things from Elias in the coming year until the next draft, though, based on the fit on the three-hour show, Elias could be a fixture on Monday nights for a lot longer.
