Randy Orton takes a hilarious shot at his former Evolution stablemate

It’s no mystery that new WWE Champion Randy Orton likes taking shots on social media.

Randy Orton is on a mission to tie his long-time rival John Cena and his former mentor Ric Flair. On Sunday at Hell in a Cell, the Viper pinned Drew McIntyre off an RKO to win his 14th world title in WWE, tying him with former Evolution stablemate Triple H and putting him just two behind Cena and Flair for the all-time lead. And he’s still going strong.

While Orton should be mostly concerned about Edge, who should return from a triceps injury to challenge for the title, he decided to take a shot at the Evolution stablemate I haven’t mentioned yet.

On his Instagram, Randy Orton shared an image from BT Sport with a great stat about Evolution. The former members of the legendary stable now have 50 titles among them. Flair has 16, and Orton and Triple H now have 14 apiece. Batista lags behind them with six world title victories before going Hollywood, but that’s not a bad haul by any means. Most wrestlers would do anything just to have one reign!

Noting Batista’s Hollywood career and the fact that he has less than half the titles as anyone else in Evolution, Orton wrote a hilarious caption poking fun at “The Animal” by saying the picture had “legends” and “an actor”.

The actor, of course, being Batista, who has starred in series like the Bond films and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Orton is merciless in the ring and on social media, hitting RKOs and insults from out of nowhere. Going after Batista is one thing, since The Animal is retired and no threat to Orton. But there’s another legend lurking in the background, ready to win the world title after returning at this year’s Royal Rumble.
