The road to Survivor Series continues on the November 2nd edition of WWE Raw. Jeff Hardy finally locks horns with Elias in a Guitar on a Pole contest, while Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day face their first major challenge in the form of Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.

Jeff Hardy Vs. Elias

Grade: B

Following weeks of devastating guitar strikes between the Charismatic Enigma and the Sinister Songsmith, the rivals settle their differences in an unorthodox contest. Hardy and Elias began the match by quickly reaching for the guitar, before the latter gained control with a scoop slam. Hardy assumed control on the outside and once again attempted to reach before Elias clocked him with a steel chair.

Towards the conclusion, Jeff would finally unhook the guitar and strike Elias from the top rope for the pinfall victory.

This exceptional match featured equal yet effective offense from the two rivals, utilizing weapons and major moves in short bursts of control. Jeff Hardy would refuse to give up in the face of momentary setbacks, counting on his usual high-flying prowess to chop his opponent down.

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke Vs. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler

Grade: B

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke continue their astounding success with a championship match against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Nia attempted an early slam on Dana Brooke, leading to a miscommunication and Mandy Rose entering the fray. Dana would quickly target the knee of Jax and target Shayna as a new opposition in Lana watched from ringside.

In the climax of the contest, Lana would assist Dana in getting a quick rollup that wasn’t seen by the referee. Shayna would then take charge with a Kirifuda Clutch to secure the win for her team and continue as champions.

Rose and Brooke put up a great fight against the champions, exploiting their respective weaknesses and using quick attacks to their advantage. While Lana attempted to screw over Jax and Baszler towards the end, Shayna reclaimed control and powered herself to a hard-fought victory.

R-Truth Vs. Bobby Lashley

Grade: C

In an impromptu matchup, United States Champion Bobby Lashley faces 24/7 Champion R-Truth in singles action.  Truth attempted to get Lashley to pin him, only to slug on him with a burst of punches. Lashley would easily regain control with a spear and the Hurt Lock, concluding this contest in convincing fashion.

After the match, Drew Gulak ran in to pin R-Truth but was attacked by Lashley almost immediately. Lashley would then allow Gulak to pin Truth and become the new 24/7 Champion.

This short contest highlighted Bobby Lashley’s strength in spite of Truth’s attempts to disorient him. While Truth looks to regain his title for the 43rd time, the US Champion must stay focused en route to Survivor Series.

Keith Lee Vs. Braun Strowman Vs. Sheamus

Grade: A

Following some instigation from AJ Styles, Braun Strowman was inserted into a triple threat match to gain a SS team slot. Strowman would easily take down Keith Lee until some speedy offense from Sheamus sent him to the outside. Lee later unleashed a stunning top rope dive to gain the upper hand, although he would be forced to temporarily team with the Celtic Warrior to keep the big man down.

Towards the conclusion, Sheamus would use the Brogue Kick to send Keith Lee back on the outside. The Monster Among Men then hit a powerslam to gain the victory and join Team Raw.

In this colossal contest, the three teammates looked to completely decimate each other with various power moves. Strowman proved to be the breakout star by unleashing a stunning barricade spear in addition to his usual dose of brutality to punch his ticket to the big event.

Nia Jax Vs. Lana

Grade: B

In a bid to end the Ravishing Russian’s interference for good, Nia Jax finally gets her hands on Lana. Jax began the match by slamming her opponent into the ringposts, continuing to mock Lana with each move. In addition, she would constantly refuse to gain an easy pin in favor of adding more punishment.

In the climax of the contest, Nia Jax would use a Samoan drop to put away Lana and gain her continued vengeance.

The animosity between the Irresistible Force and Lana finally came to a head in this emotional contest. Despite the latter’s attempts at gaining even the slightest advantage, Nia took pleasure in decimating her opponent until the final bell.

The New Day Vs. The Hurt Business

Grade: A

Raw Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods look to maintain their momentum against the Hurt Business’ Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin. Woods and Kingston commenced the match by destroying Alexander with quick tag moves. Once Benjamin entered, he would halt Kingston’s offense for a short while and prevent Woods from gaining full control.

Towards the conclusion, a sudden tag and a Paydirt/Enzuiguri combination allowed Alexander and Benjamin to secure a huge win and a possible future title opportunity.

The Hurt Business’ dominance continues to amaze as they defeated the Raw Tag Team Champions in convincing fashion. While Kingston/Woods took to the air and implemented ground moves to weaken their adversaries, Benjamin and Alexander accelerated the pace with their own devastating moves en route to a stunning win.

The Miz and John Morrison Vs. Drew McIntyre

Grade: A

Drew McIntyre looked to take down two major obstacles in Miz and Morrison in a handicap match. John Morrison attempted to confuse his opponent by jumping to the outside, leading to McIntyre dismantling him and later Miz with corner slams. An attack on the knee allowed the duo to briefly weaken Drew, although their frequent tags would not prevent him from unleashing a savage assault.

In the climax of the contest, Drew hit the Claymore to overcome the duo and gain significant momentum heading into Survivor Series. After the match, Randy Orton hit the RKO on a distracted McIntyre to gain the upper hand before the Fiend’s laughter filled the arena.

Miz and Morrison worked exceptionally well to take down the Scottish Psychopath, taking out key strengths while using a fluid offense for a majority of the match. But in the end, Drew would withstand the onslaught and implement quick moves to pick up the win.
